Replo’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection lets AI Chat work with your Replo projects through structured tools. Use it when you want Claude or ChatGPT to find information, make updates, or start work in Replo without switching between products.

What you can do

The available tools cover common work across Replo:
  • Projects and sites: Find your projects and sites, create projects, and update site settings.
  • Products and orders: Find products and orders, inspect their details, and create or update products.
  • Tasks: List, inspect, create, update, and delete tasks.
  • Assets: Find existing assets and upload new files.
  • Custom domains: Connect, verify, and check the status of a domain.
  • Analytics: Query Replo analytics for a project.
  • Replo sessions: Start a session, send follow-up messages, inspect progress, or stop a running session.
Claude and ChatGPT discover the currently available tools after you connect Replo. The tools shown in AI Chat are the source of truth for what it can do.

Projects and permissions

The connection acts as the Replo account you authorize. It can see and act on the projects that account can access, subject to the account’s existing Replo role. Most actions require a project. Start by asking AI Chat to list your Replo projects, then name the project you want it to use. If 2 projects have similar names, ask AI Chat to show their IDs before continuing.
Connecting Replo gives AI Chat access to every Replo project available to the account you authorize. Connect the right account and review the selected project before approving changes.

Safety boundaries

Replo and AI Chat have separate responsibilities.

Replo is responsible for

  • Authenticating the Replo account behind the connection.
  • Enforcing that account’s current project and workspace permissions.
  • Validating tool inputs before an action runs.
  • Marking tools as read-only, write, or destructive so AI Chat can handle them appropriately.
  • Returning an error when an action is invalid or the account cannot access its target.

Claude or ChatGPT is responsible for

  • Deciding which Replo tool to call from your request.
  • Showing any confirmation or approval step before a tool runs.
  • Presenting the result of the tool call accurately.
  • Applying its own workspace, administrator, and connector policies.

You are responsible for

  • Connecting the intended Replo account.
  • Checking the project and action before approving a change.
  • Reviewing generated content, analytics, and other results before relying on them.
  • Treating deletion and session-abort actions as destructive.
  • Disconnecting Replo from Claude or ChatGPT when access is no longer needed.
Replo identifies destructive tools, but AI Chat controls the confirmation experience. Read the action shown by Claude or ChatGPT before approving it.
